The Biostatistics programme has partnered with Malawi Liverpool Wellcome (MLW) Trust in research where the latter help in funding masters students research and attachment at MLW. Through the partnership, 10 Biostatistics graduates and 4 continuing students were funded to attend a one week short course in Geostatistics offered by Professor Peter Diggle and Emmanuela Giorgi from 5th to 9th October 2015 at MLW premises in Blantyre, Malawi. Before the training, Prof. Diggle offered a talk at Chancellor College’s Senior Common Room in the morning of 5th October 2015, titled, “River Blindness, Eyeworm and a Calibration Problem”.
